BOSTON (AP) — A fire driven by strong winds raced through a brownstone on Wednesday, trapping and killing two firefighters in the basement, where their colleagues could not rescue them.

Change Your Clocks - Change Your Battery!

NORMAL  – Normal Fire Department reminds you that when it’s time to "spring forward" the clocks on Sunday, March 9, make sure to change the batteries in all of your smoke alarms. If batteries were recently changed, it's still very important to test every smoke alarm in your home.  It could save your life!

Firefighters Battle Blaze on Grove Street

A fire in a home in the 400 block of South Grove Street caused approximately $60,000 in damage, but the homeowners were able to escape without injury.

Normal Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 403 S. Grove Street at 8:15 last night. The homeowner reported fire coming from the dryer and attempted to extinguish it without success.
